But now, after years of devoted creativity, Snapsounds has decided to lay the project to rest. Despite this decision, Snapsounds leaves behind a lasting legacy—a representation of Lithuania’s alternative music scene and a collection of captured performances that will resonate through time.
Before they take their bow, Snapsounds has one last project in the works: a vinyl anthology that charts their journey. In line with the spirit of community that kept Snapsounds thriving for so long, this project is a collaboration supported by mobile development company deverium, driven by their dedication to community innitiatives that have an impact on culture and humanity.

“A lot of wheels had to spin together for Snapsounds to have its impact, and deverium understands what that’s like. By collaborating on a vinyl anthology, Snapsounds and deverium are working to ensure that the impact of the musical community they created over the last fourteen years will endure for many more to come.
“There are so many authentic creators in the world whose voices need to be heard,” says Erika Maslauskaitė, a co-founder and CEO of deverium, who has followed the Snapsounds project for years. “This collaboration with Snapsounds will be a lasting emblem of the values we share: community, authenticity, creativity, and so many more.”

Over the years, Snapsounds produced an impressive collection of 25 music videos, each presenting a vivid visual narrative that complemented the artist’s aesthetic and creative approach. With moody imagery and striking cinematography, the team brought these musicians’ stories to life, weaving a tapestry of inspiration that would become an essential part of Lithuania’s musical history.

The project began humbly with a basic photo camera that also had a filming function, but as time passed, Snapsounds gained access to better equipment through the support of kind-hearted individuals. This enabled them to improve the quality of their recordings and films, while staying true to their DIY spirit. However, they remained committed to the project’s ethos of keeping costs low to preserve the genuine essence of the music they captured.
Narvydas Naujalis cherished the moments between takes, engaging with the musicians and becoming a part of their music during the recording process. Snapsounds’ strong community was built not on popularity-seeking, but on the genuine love for music and a desire to explore new sounds and ideas together.

Snapsounds allowed him to explore the intersection of music and visuals, providing valuable insights into how music can impact camera movement.
Tomas Verbaitis also reminisces about the fun and games that inspired the project’s beginning. The joy of successful guesswork and the satisfaction of creating well-performed recordings with the musicians stand out as favorite moments.

The team often relied on the kindness of others, borrowing equipment and asking for favors to keep their passion-driven endeavor alive. In the spirit of gratitude and appreciation, Snapsounds plans to gift a select number of vinyl records to its valued artists and partners as a token of their heartfelt thanks for the unwavering support throughout the years. Additionally, they aim to present vinyl records as gifts to their talented artists and the dedicated technical personnel who contributed their efforts to make the project a resounding success.
The remaining copies of the vinyl anthology will be made available for purchase, with all proceeds directed towards supporting Ukraine.
